A man whose face was melted off by his ex with acid has said he believes his attacker will ‘burn in hell’ because she ‘doesn’t have a soul’.
Daniel Rotariu, 31, had 96 per cent pure sulphuric acid poured over him by Katy Leong while he slept in their Leicester home in July 2016, after she initially tested it on a sausage.
After being left severely disfigured, traumatised and suicidal, Mr Rotariu is now rebuilding his life with his new girlfriend, support worker Anna Catanga.
In an interview on Good Morning Britain, presenter Piers Morgan said: ‘What do you feel about the person who did this to you – your former girlfriend?’
Mr Rotariu said: ‘She is going to burn in hell, I think. She doesn’t have a soul.
‘And I have no feelings for her.’
Leong, who received a life sentence for attempted murder, had Katie Piper’s autobiography Beautiful – detailing the harrowing rape and acid attack suffered by the actress in 2008 – in her bedroom.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – A police chief who said his officers received death threats after being accused on social media of beating a suspect and throwing him off a bridge in Alabama answered with the best weapon he had: body camera video.
Rainbow City Police Chief Jonathon Horton said he knew he had to act when claims about his officers mistreating a man began showing up on Facebook and spread quickly. A woman who identified herself as the mother of the man’s children posted that he was “beat half to death” by Rainbow City police and pushed off a bridge Thursday night.
“We’d received more than 100 messages threatening to do all sorts of things, rape and kill our wives and children and launch an all-out war on police,” Horton said in an interview Monday. “It was pretty crazy stuff.”
While body cameras have come into use as a way to monitor police behavior, Horton decided to use it for another purpose: to show there was no wrongdoing on the part of his officers. Horton posted a 30-plus minute video on the Police Department’s Facebook page that showed officers talking to Jonathan Dawon Davis, 29, during a traffic stop.
Davis was wanted on felony warrants for a drug-related charge and a probation revocation, and a misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license, Horton said.
Told that officers knew who he was, the man bolted and jumped off a bridge over a creek, the video showed. The video showed officers later under the bridge assisting the man, who had a bloody mouth and screamed in agony about a broken leg.
Horton said officers neither prompted the man to jump nor struck him, but they did use a stun gun on Davis when they first located him along a creek bank under the bridge because he was still trying to get away.
The woman whose original message sparked the threats later posted that all she had to go on was a loved one’s word “until the body cam was released.”
“I truly believed he was done wrong and we needed help. Excuse me for being human.” There was no response to a message left on Facebook seeking comment.
Davis was charged with using a false identification to obstruct justice, resisting arrest and attempting to elude, Horton said. Currently hospitalized for a broken leg, busted teeth and other injuries suffered in the fall, he will be jailed later.
A woman who was in the car with Davis was charged with resisting arrest for allegedly trying to hide Davis’ identity from police, Horton said, and officers are researching whether charges are possible against the woman whose Facebook post prompted threats.
Horton said the wave of threats toward officers stopped after the video was posted, and he hopes the worst is over.
While police critics and advocates seeking better oversight of law enforcement have pushed for bodycam videos to help prevent abuses by police, Horton said video may actually help both his officers and police elsewhere.
“I’d hate for some guy to get radicalized and think it was true and take it out on some poor cop somewhere else,” Horton said. “That was the real thing that pushed me to do it.”

‘Bobcats are pretty common to see and they are just as scared of humans as we are of them,’ said Brent Fenton, the public information officer of the Daisy Mountain Fire district.
‘But it is uncharacteristic to see one attack.’
According to Fenton, the fire department received a call around 7.45am saying that the pest had been terrorizing a man and his dog.
He and the German shepherd had been running away from the critter before the pooch turned around and began defending them both.

The dog had pinned the bobcat down, keeping it at bay before the bystander came up and attempted to assist matters by throwing the animal.
But when he tried to throw the bobcat, it latched onto his arm biting him.
Fenton said: ‘The dog did a good job defending himself and his owner but it was when the bystander grabbed the bobcat and tried to throw it that it turned and latched on his arm.’
After finally getting rid of the pest, Fenton added that the bobcat ran to a storm drain where deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department kept him while waiting on the Arizona Game and Fish department.
But before they could arrive, the bobcat got aggressive and charged at the deputies, forcing them to put it down.
Game and Fish still took the animal in hopes of running test to see what was wrong with it, according to Fenton.
And while the dog and its owner were fine, the bystander did require medical attention.
We offered to take him to the hospital but he denied saying he would take himself, Fenton said.
‘With an animal bite, it is really important to get it cleaned properly and get tested.’

According to reports, the victim, from Patiala, Punjab, gave birth to a girl whom her husband’s family refused to accept and a number of beatings followed.
The family also have a dispute over the dowry-property or money brought by a bride to her husband on their marriage-given by the woman on the wedding.

The victim’s father told local news outlets: ‘We had complained about the issue last year itself but nothing was being done regarding that. Akademi Portal Said.
‘They have been married for the past two years now and have a girl child. Their family asked Rs. seven lakh (£8,300) for dowry.’
The incident was brought to the public’s attention when the video went viral on social media platforms across the country.
The issue of dowry, which has long been a controversial issue in rural India, has also become a hot topic since the video surfaced.

This shocking footage shows the moment a tourist was brutally pushed down a flight of stairs by an AirBnB landlord who could be facing charges of attempted murder.
The push was the culmination of an argument that took place on Saturday afternoon in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam between four tourists who had rented the flat and the landlord.
According to local media, the tourists should have left the house at 11am but at 1pm, they were still not ready to leave.
The impatient landlord then became angry at the group and decided to take matters into his own hands.
The footage shows the man shouting ‘out, out’ as he chucks the clothes and suitcases of the women out of the flat and down the stairs.
One women is heard saying ‘don’t be emotional’ as she complains about the landlord chucking her stuff out the flat unceremoniously.
But then the landlord angrily shouts ‘out now’ and can be seen pushing one of the women, identified as South African woman Siba Nkumbi, down the steep staircase.
The woman hits the ground hard and seems to hit the wall and the floor with her face, and then remains motionless.
The landlord can be heard shouting ‘goddammit’ in Dutch while one of the women is crying out ‘oh my God’ multiple times.
The video then shows the landlord walking down the stairs and calling for someone to call an ambulance, ostensibly realising to his own horror what he has just done.
The tourist who fell down the stairs is a friend of the South African photographer and visual artist Muholi Zanele who is currently showing her work in the ‘Stedelijk Museum’ (Municipal Museum) in Amsterdam.
In an Instagram post Zanele claimed the incident was racially motivated.
She wrote: ‘One of my friends/Inkanyiso crew members was pushed downstairs by the Airbnb owner where we stayed. He threw their belongings out… for few mins late checkout.
‘She collapsed and ended up in hospital. She suffered internal injuries and bruises. Am so angry with this I couldn’t even sleep. This is racism and can’t be justified… violence on black bodies as you can see in this video.’

The woman was taken to hospital. According to local media she luckily only sustained minor injuries and was later discharged.
Police said the alleged victim had been treated for her injuries in hospital and would press charges.
Prosecutors were considering a charge of attempted murder but were still studying the facts, an official from the prosecutors office told Reuters.
Airbnb chief executive Brian Chesky would contact the guests involved, the company said in a statement.
‘Appalling and unconscionable behaviour against members of our community runs counter to everything Airbnb stands for,’ David King, an Airbnb official, told MailOnline.
‘We will take the strongest actions we can against such abhorrent conduct, including banning people for life from our platform and assisting law enforcement with their investigation and potential prosecution.
‘Nobody should ever be treated like this and it will not be tolerated.’
