A king brown snake has been filmed taking its first breath after it hatched at the Australian Reptile Park.

The tiny baby snake will eventually grow to more than 2.5 metres long and will prey on lizards, birds and frogs.

The birth video was filmed at the Australian Reptile Park, in the Central Coast of New South Wales, by the park’s head of reptiles and venom, Billy Collett, and later posted to their official Facebook page.

They can carry seven times more venom than the average tiger snake, according to the park’s website.

However most social media users failed to see the ‘cute’ side of new born snake video.

‘That aint cute sorry not a fan of snakes,’ wrote Jade.

‘OMG …. Just crush it right now before it ever gets out!’ Wrote Amy
